Digital Library of Appalachia Help - The My Favorites tool
<< return

The My Favorites tool is a long-term way to find and hold specific items in the Digital Library of Appalachia for future reference.  If you see an item in a results list or view its individual record, you may select that item to include on the My Favorites page.  Each PC browser can contain a different list of My Favorites.  You may add up to 100 items per My Favorites list per PC.

To select a record to include in My Favorites, perform any type of search which finds results.

From your results list,
you may click and add a checkmark next to the record.

Then click on the button beneath the results list.

From one individual record, you may click on the button
in the lower left corner of your screen.

You will see a confirmation that your item has been saved:
[favorites confirm]
Click OK and continue browsing, if you choose.
(Yes!  You may close your browser and return at a later time.)

When you are finished selecting favorites, you may view the favorites page in two ways:

Click on the button at the top of any results page.

Click on the button on the front page.

The My Favorites page will contain the selected items with their records from the Digital Library of Appalachia.  The page looks very much like a results page from a search:

The default page view is the thumbnails view.
