Digital Library of Appalachia Help - Viewing the full screen
<< return

If you are having trouble viewing the full screens on the Digital Library of Appalachia website, the problem may be related to your screen resolution.  Here are two examples of the front page of the DLA site as viewed in two different screen resolutions:

What you see:

It should appear like this:

[800 x 600 resolution image]

[1028 x 768 resolution image]

If you change your resolution settings, the Digital Library of Appalachia should appear on your screen as optimally as possible.  To change your resolution settings:

  1. Right-click with your mouse anywhere on your computer's desktop screen.  A small menu should appear where you click on Properties:
    [desktop menu]

  2. From the display properties window, click on the Settings tab:
    [display properties window]

  3. In the small Screen Area near the bottom, move the pointer to 1024x768 screen resolution, click Apply, and click OK.
    [screen area]

  4. Your screen will flicker for a few seconds, and if possible on your PC, the screen resolution will change to the optimal viewing area for the Digital Library of Appalachia website.
